PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION IS TO START IN SEPTEMBER 2025

Cundall’s global presence, with 28 offices worldwide, enables our Power Systems team to work on a diverse array of exciting and challenging projects. Our team is at the forefront of designing innovative, sustainable, and award-winning power solutions for various sectors, including critical systems, renewable energy and data centres.

We are known for our collaborative and holistic approach to delivering highly resilient and future-ready power systems. By joining us, you will be part of a team that has designed some of the most reliable and sustainable energy solutions, supporting large-scale developments, renewable energy integration, and mission-critical infrastructure around the world.

Our Power Systems Engineers offer expert consultancy in areas such as grid connections, electrical design, cutting edge network simulations, and energy systems optimisation. Join us and contribute to projects like the development of energy-efficient data centres, integration of renewable energy into national grids, or future-proofing electrical infrastructure for major industrial clients.

The Role

As a Graduate Power Engineer, you’ll work alongside experienced power systems engineers, providing consultancy on power generation, transmission, and distribution projects. You will be involved in designing and optimising electrical systems across a wide range of sectors.

You will support project work involving steady-state and dynamic load flow analysis, fault level calculations, protection studies, earthing design, and grid connection studies. Working in close collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, you will play a key role in shaping sustainable energy solutions, ensuring that projects meet technical requirements and regulatory standards.

Your responsibilities will grow as your technical skills develop, with the opportunity to take on more autonomy and leadership within projects. Through accredited professional development programmes, you’ll be supported on your path to achieving Chartered status.

The Skills

On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree.

Desirable if accredited with or on course to achieve a BEng or an MEng degree level (or equivalent) in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering.

Have a keen interest in power systems design and analysis, and crucially - have a passion for creative and intuitive design.

Possessing a desire for personal and professional development, you’ll have the proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Digital engineering is a big focus at Cundall, so ideally, you’ll have an understanding of Power System Analysis Software (e.g. ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory), or at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python).

You are organised and methodical in your approach to managing your tasks and priorities, striving to meet deadlines.

Collaborative in nature, you’ll be able to empathise with your clients’ needs and utilise excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external stakeholders. You’re used to using your initiative to overcome challenges and have a positive, can-do attitude.

What’s in it for you

We offer a competitive starting salary which grows as you develop, as well as many training and development opportunities to make sure you keep progressing.
