Our office in Belfast has more than doubled in size despite challenging operating conditions over the past 12-18 months.
With the delivery and handover of Ulster Hospital, a £220m healthcare project, it’s been an exciting time for our team in Northern Ireland. More recently, they’ve been delivering workplace projects for a global financial institution as well as a life sciences scheme for a government department.
Steve Maddocks, Partner commented, "It’s great to see such positive growth for our Belfast office. The past 18 months have been challenging for our industry, so seeing the team deliver such a key project for the region and move onto delivering other landmark projects is a testament to their hard work and success.
"I’m looking forward to seeing the growth and development of our team and workload within the local market over the next 12 months."
One of the main appointments over the last 12 months is the introduction of structural engineering within the region. Jerry Cronin, Structural Associate has been appointed to work alongside the building services team to provide a multi-disciplinary offering to the local market. The expansion confirms the successful growth of the business in the region.
With over 12 years’ experience in the industry. Jerry has contributed to the successful delivery of projects in the UK and Ireland across the education, residential, logistics and retail sectors. These include Royal Wharf and 375 Kensington High Street residential developments in London for Ballymore and the Berkeley Group. Adding to this, are numerous education projects for the Department of Education in Ireland and England, and the Education Authority in Northern Ireland. He is also keen to support Cundall’s Zero Carbon Design 2030 initiative.
Jerry commented, "I’m excited to be joining Cundall’s Belfast team at such a key time for the business in their drive towards making our industry more sustainable. The team has already delivered some exciting projects and I can’t wait to support the development of structural engineering in Northern Ireland."
