Adrian Roche

I have always had an interest in design, how things work, and how they can be improved. As a youngster I spent hours rebuilding bicycles, then motorcycle engines. I started on the tools as an apprentice electrician and moved into design in my early twenties. I completed a four-year part-time honours degree, while also being lead engineer for a 450,000 ft² office building.

I enjoy working with clients and design teams to explore what is and is not required - the latter often leads to some interesting insight that can significantly influence the outcome. I am a great believer in building goodwill and collaborative teams.

I am fortunate to work daily with some great thinkers in the field of net zero carbon. Passionate about continual improvement, I enjoy sharing my design experience to create sustainable developments. It is also hugely pleasing when we achieve the required functionality using fewer parts, and less energy, carbon and cost.
