Chadik Miah

As an engineering graduate, I initially developed a specialist technical background in structural and mechanical integrity assessment and design. My work later diversified into the assessment and design of risk mitigation solutions from terrorism threats to the built environment. I have ed a specialist background in physical and counterterrorism protective security and security risk management. I am Chartered Engineer and a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), member of ASIS International, a SABRE registered Assessor and hold security clearance at UK Security Check (SC) level.

Good security requires a collaborative approach with all stakeholders to identify security requirements clearly and early in the design process. We actively seek and engage with stakeholders to ask questions (lots of them) to ensure that we are able to develop the most appropriate, proportionate and cost-effective security solutions for our clients.

Security is sometimes incorrectly perceived as a hindrance to design creativity. This is usually because of delayed involvement of security consultants on projects which results in costly retrofit measures. With early engagement and clear identification of security requirements we can develop and incorporate innovative physical and technological solutions seamlessly within the built environment.
