A childhood obsession of dinosaurs and strangely, landslides, evolved into an undergraduate degree in the geological sciences. A desire to see tangible benefits of applying those geological skills steered me towards a master’s in engineering geology. After 13 years in engineering consultancy, becoming a chartered geologist and registered ground engineering professional, I joined Cundall’s Newcastle office in 2020 and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
Creativity
The construction industry must curb its carbon emissions, therefore thinking differently about how we approach a project is absolutely critical if humanity is to survive and flourish justly. The encouragement of new ideas at Cundall means I relish each project as an opportunity to exercise my creative skills to improve ground investigation and design.
Collaboration
We are greater than the sum of our parts, and the teams I’ve had the privilege to be part of at Cundall exemplify this mantra. Only through collective action and cooperation can we truly fulfil our awesome potential and decarbonise our sector.
