I've always been fascinated with understanding how things work - taking them apart and then not always successfully putting them back together... This led me down the path to a career in engineering where I have subsequently become a lot better at putting things together! Since 2008, I have been exclusively focused on the critical systems team. My specialist interest and expertise is the development of low energy cooling solutions for the data centre industry, with a particular focus on system resilience and free cooling solutions. In 2016, I was proud to be voted DCD’s ‘Business Leader of the Year’ for EMEA. Within Cundall, I am also involved in internal design reviews and the development of technical standards for the practice.
Excellence
Working towards achieving sustainable, net zero carbon operation is the greatest challenge currently facing the data centre industry. Rising to this challenge has been a passion of mine and I have been fortunate to work on several large, and innovated schemes that have set new standards for data centre sustainability and energy efficiency.
Collaboration
I have also collaborated with several specialist DC cooling equipment manufacturers on the development of their products. This has given me a great insight into the application and development of emerging data centre cooling technologies, which I have been able to apply to projects.
