I have been an environmentalist for as long as I can remember. I was excited to join Cundall’s pioneering building physics and sustainability team in 2005 as a graduate engineer, and over the years I have watched the team grow and flourish into the world-leading team it is now. At this crucial time, I am privileged to lead our net zero carbon and sustainable governance service streams, supporting clients realise their net zero carbon and wider Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) aspirations.
Engineering excellence
I have been proud to deliver the first WELL-certified projects in both Europe and MENA, as well as helping to develop net zero carbon and whole life carbon methodologies for the Greater London Authority (GLA), the UK Green Building Council, the Whole Life Carbon Network and the Construction Industry Council Hong Kong. I also co-wrote Cundall’s One Planet, One Chance sustainability roadmap, which set out how Cundall can achieve maximum impact using the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In line with this, in 2020 we became the world’s first carbon neutral-certified engineering consultancy using science-based targets.
Collaboration
I am passionate about industry collaboration and look to share my knowledge and experience through my roles as a member of the UK Green Building Council’s Members Advisory Committee, the British Council for Offices (BCO) ESG Group, the Whole Life Carbon Network (WLCN) committee and the Green Property Alliance, and as chair of the CIBSE Knowledge Generation Panel. In addition, I am authoring numerous papers and presenting at conferences on net zero carbon, whole life carbon, health, wellbeing and the UN SDGs.
