Visitors are set for an energising experience at the ENOC pavilion, which was completed eight months ahead of Expo 2020 Dubai’s opening. The site includes seven individual structures covering a 2050 sqm plot area. The pavilion offers a first-of-its-kind journey where visitors can feel energy though the use of ultrasound, audio-visual narratives, sensory experiences, kinetic installations and interactive projections. A key element of the brief was sustainability which has been implemented into the design.
Constructed from 650 tonnes of steel and engineered to consider potential legacy use, the structures can be moved entirely or de-constructed and re-constructed elsewhere. Our building services design was developed based on standardisation and a modular approach facilitating procurement, installation and commissioning efficiencies. Parametric modelling integrated with BIM was utilised throughout the project to optimise the design and minimise waste.
Richard Stratton, Managing Partner, commented, "It is wonderful to work with a progressive organization in ENOC - embracing the changing world of energy. I believe that the ENOC Pavilion expresses this in both experience and design. It's completely reusable in every way."
The two-stage procurement strategy saved significant time and promoted a transparent open book cost management approach.
