With its emblematic architecture, central location in the heart of Doha’s Corniche, and an exceptional collection, the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha is a true symbol of the city. The monumentality of the atrium and quality of the museum's interior spaces remain engraved in the memories of all visitors.
Our team was appointed to provide the site survey, building and IT services of the museum design. The project involved reviewing and advising on the effects of existing building services and IT system of the proposed alterations. The renovation work included the galleries and interior spaces of the MIAQ building, which consists of two stories for permanent exhibition halls, two temporary exhibition halls, a private exhibition hall, a lecture hall and a gift shop.
Gary Dodds, Country Director Qatar commented "The overarching objective of this unique project was to preserve the museum’s integrity, whilst enriching it and making it more attractive and educational."
We worked closely with the project team to understand and incorporate requirements from funders into our design.
