The project is located on two artificial islands set in the bay of Lusail City. The development consists of approximately 200 plots, comprised of waterfront villas, garden villas and town house apartment blocks.
Cundall provided civil and structural engineering design services for the six villa types and three apartment blocks. The civil infrastructure and structural design needed to consider the geology of the man-made islands as well as the steep topography. This resulted in each plot having different characteristics to be considered for the modular design of the villas while maintaining an easy transition to the island infrastructure and public realm.
Gary Dodds, Country Director Qatar commented "This project forms a strategic and fundamental element in the overall Lusail City Masterplan and represents most of the residential buildings located on South Island 2 and South Island 3. The team created a design that works in harmony with the architecture to create modern, inspiring environments and improving the overall residential unit's functionality."
