RF CorVal

Working closely with Building Manager, Knight Frank, and asset owner RF CorVal, Cundall created a five-year sustainability roadmap for a seven-storey Perth office building that enabled it to achieve Carbon Neutral certification under the Australian Government’s Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard for Buildings. This is the first commercial office building to achieve carbon neutrality in Western Australia.

The seven-year-old building was originally delivered to achieve 5 Star Green Star. We created an overarching strategy that planned to improve building performance across energy efficiency, indoor environment quality, water efficiency and waste reduction. Each initiative was also costed, giving the client a clear roadmap. This robust, science-backed program facilitated decision-making, enabling carbon neutrality to be achieved earlier than expected.

"Having a five-year sustainability roadmap enabled the owner to see what was possible to improve the building performance. The program of works facilitates an uplift of NABERS credentials across carbon, energy, water and waste, and incorporates climate adaptation. Tenant wellbeing and engagement has been a key focus, ensuring a workplace for the public sector tenant into the future." Mathuran Marianayagam, Principal Consultant.
